Missed Call Text Back for Equipment Rental Companies | Ask Franzi

Now accepting applications for the 14-day founding pilot

For independent equipment rental companies

The phone rang while you were loading a machine.
We texted them back.

Ask Franzi installs a simple follow-up system that immediately responds to missed callers, collects what equipment they need, when they need it, and where the job is, then alerts your team. Before the inquiry disappears into voicemail.

  • Works alongside your current rental software
  • No AI making up prices or availability
  • Your team takes over when a human is needed

The phone always picks the worst possible time

Your team isn't ignoring customers.
They're running the yard.

You're loading a skid steer.
Someone is standing at the counter.
A driver needs directions.
A machine needs attention.
Then the phone rings.

The customer calling does not know your team is busy doing the actual work. They only know they need equipment and nobody answered.

Voicemail asks them to wait.
The next rental yard might answer immediately.

They don't complain. They just call the next number on the list.

Your crew should not have to choose between helping the customer in front of them and responding to the customer on the phone.

From missed call to quote-ready inquiry

  1. 1

    The call goes unanswered

Your existing phone process continues as normal. When an eligible call is missed, the follow-up begins.

  2. 2

The caller gets an immediate text

The message identifies your business and asks what equipment the customer needs.

  3. 3

The system collects the important details

    It can collect:

    • Equipment requested
    • Rental dates
    • Job-site ZIP code
    • Customer name
    • Company name
  4. 4

    Your team gets the inquiry

The information is sent to your team, and the customer can be directed into the quote or booking process you already use.

  5. 5

    A human takes over

When a customer asks for help, appears ready to book, or asks something outside the approved information, your team is alerted.

Important note: The starter system does not promise inventory, invent pricing, calculate delivery charges, or confirm availability. Your team stays in control of the rental.

Automation handles the repetitive opening.
Your people handle the rental.

This is not about replacing your staff.

It is about making sure a missed call does not become a dead end while your team is busy loading machines, making deliveries, helping walk-ins, or working after hours.

Simple on purpose

One small system.
One expensive leak fixed.

Immediate missed-call response

Eligible missed callers receive a branded text while they are still looking for equipment.

Custom rental intake

The questions are configured around your equipment, service area, and existing process.

Business-hours and after-hours messaging

The customer receives the right response based on when the call arrives.

Quote-process routing

Send the customer toward the quote form, booking page, or next step you already use.

Staff alerts and human handoff

Your team receives the information and can take over the conversation when needed.

One follow-up

If the caller disappears, the system follows up once instead of letting the inquiry quietly die.

Duplicate-message protection

Repeated calls should not trigger an avalanche of identical messages.

Monthly opportunity report

See how many eligible missed calls were contacted, how many people responded, and what happened next.

No, we are not replacing your rental software.

Keep the rental-management platform, calendar, quote process, and team you already use. Ask Franzi handles the small gap between "Someone called." and "Our team has the information."

This is not:

  • A full CRM migration
  • New rental-management software
  • Dispatch software
  • Live inventory management
  • A website rebuild
  • Social-media management
  • A robot quoting equipment without permission
  • A giant "AI transformation"
  • Another dashboard your team has to babysit

It does one job: when your company misses a call, the customer still gets a useful next step.

Meet the human behind it

Hi, I'm Franzi.

I'm an animal lover and - according to my own bio, which I never told anyone to tone down - a "creative mastermind." Generous, but I'll take it. Mostly I'm the person people end up calling their growth strategist, or their partner-in-crime for getting more clients and scaling a business without the stress or the overwhelm.

It took me a while to turn that into something more than a passion project. I grew up in a tiny village in rural Germany called Fuchsendorf - literally, Fox Village - where I actually used to run into a wild fox on the drive home some nights. Somewhere between there, the concrete jungle of New York City, and the southern craziness of Florida, I finally decided to do my own thing and built a strong team around it.

These days that means years spent inside sales teams, CRMs, follow-up systems, and local-business marketing, with a track record that includes generating seven figures in online sales along the way. The pattern I keep seeing, no matter the industry, is painfully simple:

A customer raises their hand.
Nobody responds quickly.
Nobody knows who owns the next step.
The opportunity disappears.

Most businesses do not need another massive software platform. They need the small, expensive gaps in their customer journey to stop leaking opportunities - and someone more interested in action than in more ideas. That's the blend of strategy and creativity I try to bring to everything I build.

I'm not here to turn your rental operation upside down. I'm here to install one useful system, make sure it works, and help your team get more value from the inquiries you already receive. Efficient, a little fun, and worth it - that's the goal.

Real person. Clear process. No tech-bro circus.

Try it on your real missed calls for 14 days.

We will confirm that your phone setup is compatible, install the system, customize the rental questions, connect your existing quote process, and test the complete workflow. Then you can see what happens with your actual missed calls.

Is this worth testing for your rental company?

Strong fit

This may be a strong fit when:

  • You operate an established independent rental business
  • Your company receives regular inbound calls
  • Your team cannot always answer immediately
  • You rent skid steers, excavators, trailers, trenchers, attachments, or similar equipment
  • One additional rental could reasonably cover the monthly fee
  • You already have a quote or booking process
  • You want faster follow-up without replacing your operational software

Not a fit

This is probably not worth paying for when:

  • You only rent one machine occasionally
  • Your company receives very few inbound calls
  • Almost every customer already completes the full booking online
  • Your team answers essentially every call
  • You need a complete rental-management or dispatch platform

If your business hardly misses any legitimate inquiries, we will tell you this probably is not worth paying for.

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace our rental software?

No. The system is designed to work alongside your existing quote, booking, and rental-management process.

Do we have to change our business phone number?

Not necessarily. The answer depends on your current provider and phone setup. Compatibility is checked before installation. We do not promise that every phone setup will work without changes.

Does an AI bot answer the phone?

Not in the starter offer. The initial version begins after an eligible call is missed and continues through text messaging.

Can it confirm availability or give prices?

Not in the starter offer. It collects the customer's request and sends it to your team. It does not invent availability, pricing, delivery fees, or policies.

What happens when the customer needs a person?

Your team is alerted and can take over. The automation should stop when a human enters the conversation.

What if someone calls more than once?

The workflow includes suppression logic intended to prevent repeated calls from triggering multiple identical opening messages.

How much work is required from us?

You provide: business information, equipment categories, service area, quote or booking link, business hours, the person who should receive alerts, and approved policies and common answers. Ask Franzi handles the setup, testing, and configuration.

What happens after the 14-day pilot?

Continue for $147 per month or cancel before the pilot ends. No awkward hostage negotiation required.

What if our phone system is not compatible?

The installation does not proceed until compatibility is confirmed.

The next call will arrive at the worst possible time.
Let's make sure it still goes somewhere.
